The home studio has been very busy leading into the 2020s and beyond. Here's a round-up of recent projects:
TRIPLE ENGINE
The debut single from a brand new band formed during WA's Covid-19 isolation period was released in 2020.
Two follow-up singles were released in 2020 and 2021, with the debut album due for 2023 release.
REFRACTORY ROAD
Tracking for a new song, 'Less Hiding'.
SOUNDBAKER SESSION WORK
Guitar solos tracked at Noise-a-thon for two Soundbaker song projects at the request of producer Rob Agostini.
GRACIE B
First EP recorded and produced by Noise-a-thon with a second in the works for 2023 release.
ADELINE & EDWARD
All demos for songs from this original musical written by Rob Garton-Smith have been recorded at Noise-a-thon.
JACEY BROWN
Jacey's debut single 'Change', a powerful statement on domestic violence, was recently released to all digital platforms.
ALLI BUTLER
Alli has recorded a fresh version of her song 'Call On Me' from her Fringe-worthy comedy/music show '40 Year-Old Popstar'.
Keep an eye and ear out for the song on Alli's socials.
NELLA NIKNOT
A project from budding musician and radio host (Tonk'n Along With Tonks on Voice of The Avon 101.3FM), 'Fools of Dereliction' harnesses the spirit and simplicity of 70s punk bands for a political song on climate change. Up and coming WA artist Gracie B provides the lead vocals, with guest guitar from Chris Gibbs.
THE INDIAN PACIFIC
Originally premiered on ABC TV fifty (that's right, fifty!) years ago, 'The Indian Pacific' has been re-recorded by Chris Gibbs under the supervision of the song's original composer, Rob Garton-Smith to commerate half a century since the famous cross-country train made its first journey across the Nullabor.
DENNY THAKRAR
Having contributed numerous guitar parts to Denny's projects over the years, Chris was very excited to once again record guitars for a new Bollywood-style single and remix.
WINTERFOLD
In conjunction with Troy Nababan at Hammerspace Recordings, Chris has co-produced the debut from new Perth act Winterfold, which happens to feature Chris' nephew Will Gibbs on lead guitar. If 70s-90s era hard rock is your thing, check this one out when it drops in a couple of months.
